Gentian Gentiana calyosa fresh root and rhizome

Gentian is an excellent bitter which, as do all bitters, stimulates the appetite and digestion via a general stimulation of the digestive juices. It helps promote the production of saliva, gastric juices and bile. It is indicated for sluggish digestion, lack of appetite, gastric distress and flatulence.

Chamomile Matricaria chamomilla fresh flowers

This aromatic little flower has two specific actions - one upon the gastro-intestinal tract, by relieving irritation, and the other, upon the nervous system, subduing nervous irritability. Indigestion and inflammations such as gastritis are often eased with Chamomile.

Mugwort Artemisia vulgaris fresh leaf

Mugwort is a bitter herb and is valued as a liver stimulant and digestive aid. In combination with other bitters, it can be taken before and after meals to alleviate sluggish digestion, constipation, and gas.

Artichoke Cynara scolymus fresh leaf

The leaf of this plant is protective, regenerative and anti-toxic to the liver.

It stimulates production of bile by the liver, lowers concentrations of fats, cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. As a bitter it stimulates appetite and enhances good digestion.

Dandelion Taraxacum officinale fresh root

The root of this common weed is one of the best herbs for the liver and is used for all liver disorders, digestive upsets, and gall bladder problems. Both the root and leaf of Dandelion provide essential nutrients to the system. Considered a food herb, Dandelion is a rich source of vitamins A and C, iron, calcium and potassium, as well as many other trace minerals.

Ginger Asarum candatum fresh wild root
